I'm meeting today with ITT about getting my Graphic Design Degree and was wondering if I could get some feedback from students that are in or graduated from this program. Some of you may remember me, I'm the Co-Owner/Creator of Sniperwatch LAN Party. I'm just looking to advance my skills in the graphic design arena. Thanks for any feedback you can provide. _________________ Jason Hutson

Haha. Don't take the lack of responses as any sort of indicator as to how good or bad the graphic design program at ITT is. There are merely a handful of us who even visit these boards any more and I only ever check it once a week or so.
I personally had a blast with the program and found it to be a very positive experience. I'll admit that self-motivation is key when it comes to doing it since you won't learn a thing unless you sit yourself down and practice the techniques you are taught in class.
For most of my classes I had Mr. Coburn, Mr. Calvin, Mr. Gunter, and Ms. Youngblood for my instructors and they are all awesome. I think graphic design is incredibly fun, in addition to being an awesome skill to have. It's pretty crazy (to me) how many people don't know how to do what it is we do.
You could probably teach yourself how to be a graphic designer but I believe that the program at ITT will help to give you a sound foundation for your graphic design skills, and you will likely learn things that you would not have on your own.
I had Photoshop experience before I started ITT and not only was my knowledge of the software vastly expanded, I also learned such programs as After Effects, 3DS Max, Director, Flash, and Dream Weaver.
I'm sure everyone's experience will differ, but it was honestly a great experience for me and I learned much. _________________ www.flickr.com/photos/technologicaltyrant |

Yea, have to agree not many ppl are on this forum any more. But i say there's like only 5 of guys that still checks for updates on here.
But the graphic design classes was outstanding to me. I never took any classes like this or knew any of the programs until i came to ITT. I say these classes will leave you with more knowledge then you came in with.
The teachers are very helpful and they make sure you work to your fullest.
When me and Act of Bravery started classes there, the only teacher we had were Coburn, Calvin, Gunter, and Youngblood. They have some new teachers there now but you'll still get them too. _________________ http://pmallery.webs.com/ |
